DESCRIPTION
OF THE QUALIFICATIONS:
The Certificate
III in Printing and Graphic Arts (Graphic Pre-Press)
is suitable for trainees wishing to gain a broad and
thorough knowledge of the Printing and Graphic Arts
industry. The course provides the opportunity to develop
pre-press skills in typography, design and layout, preparation
of files for print, scanning images, image outputting,
imposition and a range of current industry software
applications. The Diploma of Graphic Design is designed
to provide skills and knowledge for those who wish to
enter the Graphic Design Industry. This course is for
anyone who wants to develop the theoretical, technical
and practical skills necessary to work as a graphic
designer.
You will
learn how to design logos, brochures, corporate identity,
annual reports, magazines, advertising, packaging, websites,
animation and more! You will learn to solve problems
by designing innovative solutions, and be able to produce
creative contemporary graphic designs.

are in great demand in a range of industries including
graphic design studios, magazine publishers, television,
packaging, production, advertising and digital media.

WORK
EXPERIENCE
The Australian
International College of Art (AICA) guarantees the trainee
a total of 900 hours unpaid work experience in the Graphic
Pre-Press Field.
FURTHER ENGLISH STUDIES
The
Australian International College of Art has Memorandum's
of Understanding (MOU's) with various English Language
Schools.
COURSE
DURATION
The double
award is delivered over 2 academic years and comprises
four terms per academic year. The study mode is full
time, which consists of 20 teacher contact hours per
week.
ENTRY
REQUIREMENTS
The entry requirements for these courses are the successful
completion of Year 10 or the equivalent level of studies
in the trainee's home country and a minimum English
level of IELTS 5.5.
COURSE REQUIREMENT
A LAPTOP
COMPUTER capable of processing all the software required
for the course, particularly with wireless networking.
Software required for the course can be purchased at
student discounts through the College after payment
of College fees.
PATHWAYS
The Australian International College of Art provides
pathways into various Universities on the Gold Coast
(e.g. Griffith University). For example trainees who
successfully complete the double award in Certificate
III in Graphic Arts (Graphic Pre-Press) and the Diploma
of Graphic Design will gain 1 year (80 credit points)
advanced standing into the Bachelor of Design, Griffith
University South Bank campus.
